Groups - a central customer management tool

Groups are a powerful customer management tool. Groups structure the address database, enabling the allocation of contacts according to intended use. Groups control processes, ensuring the automated processing of address data when this data is allocated to such groups (e.g. the sending of emails).

Groups and subgroups can be defined in the CRM's group management. It is possible to set up a hierachy structure for an unlimited number of groups. Assigning contacts to groups allows you to cluster your contacts in the database and work with these groups.

The use of groups is an inseperable part of the selection process. Selection uses the group allocation of data sets to supply the required subset for each activity.

Below you will find a few practical examples of this.

Group allocation for form entries

You have created an online form with WebConnector which users can use to make enquiries. Travel agency example: The form can be used to request information about various travel destinations. Checkboxes are set up in the form for each group, allowing the travel to know what has been requested. Example: Main group: Travel offers - Subgroups: Greece, Italy, Spain, Turkey. All enquiries made via the form flow directly into the CRM and are allocated to the respective groups.

Automated FollowUp newsletters (requires EMS)

It is possible to create FollowUp sequences in the EMS and specify so-called start groups for this purpose. As soon as a contact has been assigned to such a group, he will automatically receive FollowUp newsletter emails.
